Reel Brit Productions produce uplifting, entertaining stories. We are particularly keen on true stories, historical projects, narratives that reframe popular culture, and centre underrepresented voices.
The past informs. The present reflects.
Reel Brit's first foray into film was through documentary shorts dealing with social issues, aiming to capture the lived experiences of contributors. Yep talking heads, which for some underrepresented communities remains vital and life affirming. Our first feature Nine Nights won a Pan African Film Festival Award, putting our small company on the radar, and we are now working on Film, TV and Theatre projects with partners in the UK, US, and Nigeria.
We work with established and emerging writers on original and optioned projects to produce low to mid budget independent feature films.
What We Do
TV projects in development include 'BUTTERFLY FISH', a UK/Nigerian miniseries, a WINDRUSH project, and a WWII miniseries.
Development & IP
We develop IP, and have optioned several properties for film and TV. We also provide a development service to independent producers.
We are passionate about history and provide consultancy and research services in the areas of queer history, and black history 1970's -1990s. We also have a small library of images that we license.
Our images have appeared on Sky TV, and Channel 5 amongst a number of curated projects.
